  If you’ve ever wanted to know what "practice week" really feels like, then buckle up—I’m taking you behind the scenes, through my personal experience as a proud member of JUUC Chambers. And not just any member, mind you, but a certified Team Love girlie (best team, no debates, even if the others want to argue). *Winks. Courtroom Realities: First Stop We kicked off Practice Week with a court visit. Now, books will try to prepare you, but nothing truly does. The moment I stepped into the courtroom, I felt it,that calm, solemn, almost sacred air. It was pin-drop silent. We witnessed about three cases. All were adjourned, but the first? Electrifying. One of the lawyers was so fierce and compelling, I couldn’t look away. Sadly, it ended too soon—adjourned again. Still, I felt that courtroom fire light up something in me. “Shield your eyes, child, their radiance is blinding.”  The hall was set for the pacesetters to make their grand entry and each pacesetter did not fall short of the standard. Breath after breath, each member stared in awe as another pacesetter entered the beautifully adorned hall. The masked ushers in their grace ushered each pacesetter to their allocated seats. The hall was saturated with the aroma of good food as the caterers prepared for their turn to shine.  Carefully crafted flowers were wound around the gold plated bars that served as a mini-runway where each pacesetter would strut in their elegance to collect their awards on the stage. #KeepUniUyoAnnexClean What can be more depressing than learning in an environment that saps your soul away every two seconds because of how disdainful it looks and smells? Similar to the cartoon-like depiction of scents - but this time in a bad way - the smell of the unclean environment envelops you and truly takes you to a place you don’t know (inserts e dey carry me dey go where I no know ). The initiative to Keep UniUyo Annex Clean was borne out of the immense desire to walk around and not spit in disgust, or hop on one leg to manoeuvre the graciously provided cow dung. It was borne out of the desire to relish in the euphoria of having started a positive trend. As a chambers, each class was given the opportunity to choose and execute one of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
