Three weeks ago, the former President, His Excellency Mohammadu Buhari made a step that makes its mark in Nigerian history.  The former President, His Excellency  Mohammadu Buhari, had recently commissioned the Dangote Petroleum Refinery on the 23rd May, 2023. Present on the day of the inauguration were several high profile persons, present and past governors, government functionaries, parliamentarians. FCTA IDENTIFIES AND ISOLATES PERSONS INVOLVED IN ABBA KYARI BURIAL CEREMONY, SAYS INTENSIVE TESTS ARE ON TO CHECK FOR CORONA VIRUS.

The Health and Human services secretariat, FCT has announced that it has identified and Isolated persons directly involved in the burial ceremony of Abba Kyari, stating that proper testing are ongoing to validate the presence of the corona virus infection in them. The acting Secretary health and human service secretariat Dr Mohammadu Kawu had admitted that persons attending the burial ceremony had not been properly kitted for the exercise and so were almost vulnerable to the Covid-19 Infection from the former Chief of Staff's corpse. He agreed that testings were currently ongoing to determine the level of exposure of these persons to the global disease. He also assured that proactive steps were now being put in place to ensure that all future burials of victims infected with Covid-19 will hence be conducted in line with the provisions established by the Nigerian Commission for Disease Control(NCDC).

Chief Of Staff to Nigeria's President Abba Kyari dies after contracting Corona Virus

The Chief of Staff to Nigeria's President, Abba Kyari has died after contracting the corona virus infection. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity femi adesina confirming his death in statement on April the 18, stated the Chief of staff to the President had died on the 17th of April 2020 from the corona virus infection. He had further described the former chief staff as a national patriot, committed servant leader and loyalist to both the country and the presidency at large. He had Further offered his condolences to the family of the late chief of staff before Praying for Allah to grant him eternal rest. Late Mallam Abba Kyari was born in Borno state and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Warwick in 1980,  and also received a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge before being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1983 after attending the Nigerian Law School. Lagos State Government records new death from Corona Virus.

The Lagos state government has recorded another death from Corona virus, bringing the total number of deaths caused by the virus in the state to Seven. The state's commissioner for health, Prof Akin Abayomi had announced the death in a statement from his social media account where he claimed a 63 year old Nigerian man, who had had no history of contact with any confirmed case had died from being affected by the virus, bringing the number of deaths from the virus in the state to seven. Currently, the number of persons confirmed of Covid 19 in Lagos state are over 217, while fully recovered patients discharged in Lagos over 69.

Akin Abayomi, commissioner for health in Lagos state, says a total of 118,000 households have been reached in the active case search of possible  COVID-19  cases in communities. At a media briefing on Tuesday, the commissioner said community search was activated to limit the spread of the disease in the state which has the highest number of COVID-19 patients in the country. Abayomi said 110 persons were found with symptoms of coronavirus but tests are being conducted to determine their status. “ We’ve embarked on an active case search in communities. The idea is to go to hot spots and go from door to door with our health personnel. So far, in the last two days, we’ve visited 118,000 households and we’re looking for the typical symptoms of COVID-19.
