The 2022/2023 season has closed and teams have once again entered the market to sought after prospects and established names that would improve their team structure. There is more intrigue in the current transfer window, this is considering the big names willing to move in and out of their respective clubs.

Firstlight looks at the flurry of activities ongoing at this summer transfer window; the completed deals, the rumours and the obvious.

MANCHESTER CITY AND ARSENAL, BATTLE FOR DECLAN RICE

Considering the possible move of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona, Manchester City see Rice as a key replacement for the outgoing German. Having already complicated a move for Mateo Kovacic with Chelsea, a Rodri-Rice or Rodri-Kovacic midfield option will provide more options for Guardiola's men - more trouble for EPL sides.

Meanwhile, West Ham have rejected some proposals from Arsenal worth up to £90m — comprising a £75m fee and £15m.However,  it's reported the London side are preparing another offer for the player.

It's reported Manchester United also showed interest in the Defensive-Midfielder. This is based on reports an offer of £40m plus Harry Maguire and Anthony Elanga is being prepared.

Amidst the deals in place and the rumours flying around one thing is certain, Declan Rice is leaving West Ham.

WORLD CUP WINNER, KYLIAN MBAPPE SET TO JOIN REAL MADRID

Kylian Mbappé is set to LEAVE PSG! The Frenchman and World Cup Champion is on the verge of joining the Spanish giants for a reported agreed transfer fee of €200m + €50m bonus.

The transfer fee would in fact shatter the world record which is held by Neymar for his $243 million transfer move from Barcelona to PSG in the summer of 2017. The sale of the forward will be worth an initial €250 million ($274 million) with another €50 million ($55 million) due bonuses which will depend on the number of matches he plays for Los Blancos and whether Mbappe gets his on the most sought after individual award, the Ballon d'Or.

Some say the transfer to Real Madrid is no news, this is considering the fact that Madrid have been long term admirers and Mbappe too has aired out his interest to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Christiano Ronaldo. It's obvious then Manchester that United or Real Madrid would have been the star's next path. Considering the former's slide over the years, Real Madrid was infact the only path.

Confirmed then, Mbappe to MADRID.
