It may surprise you to know that according to statistical analysis, people who dress well for interviews are 73% more likely to be called back for a second interview, or for the job. (Statistic Brain, 2016)
According to Forbes, 2015, for 95% of employees surveyed, personal appearance contributes exceedingly to the quota when determining whether a person is fit for the job and fit to keep it.
One's dress sense for an interview shows the amount of interest, passion and readiness a candidate has for the job.
When stepping into an interview room, appearance is the first to be seen, not certificates, qualifications, experience, accent, CV and more.
Just like a food that doesn't look appealing would not give much encouragement to be eaten, a candidate that doesn't look interesting and ready may not be wholeheartedly welcome.
He may just be told to sit for the interview, just because the interviewers have to do their job.
Consider the other side of the equation.
What if a candidate steps into the interview room looking ready, interesting, updated and upgraded for the job, standing out from the rest?
Then, he speaks "wisdom" when asked to speak; e has a good speaking technique; he knows when to pause, when to make emphasis; he has experience; then, his second class can still land him the job a first class graduate applied for!
Gentlemen,
Here are a few fashion tips you must take into consideration:
1) The rule of thumb states that the tip of your tie must be right above your belt.
2) Tall gentlemen must wear long ties.
3) Your shirt must be according to your size.
4) Stop frowning, wear a smile; you cannot be angry at the world.
